Nukklear and Funcom develop online multiplayer survival game in the Dune

Denis Villeneuves Movie Remake of Frank Herbert's Dune hit the cinemas in the cinemas this year. The science fiction epic broke two records after his start in the US and, of course, a continuation is long ago in progress, which should then come to the cinemas on 20 October 2023.

Also, playfully, Dune fans can look forward to new fabric. As early as 2019, the Developer Studio Fun com presented its planned title around the desert planet of Arrays, at that time as a MMO. Now a online multiplayer survival game is to become out of the styles of Conan Exiles, another title of Fun com.

The Dune project: support and investment from all sides

After an investment of the Chinese Giant Tencent, Fun com's project has adopted significantly larger forms than originally planned. Therefore, the Studio with the German Developer Nuclear has brought another partner to the table, which will take a role as a co-developer, as they revealed in a press release.

Run Calais, the CEO of Fun com, is pleased about the partnership : Since the Dune Open-World-Survival game here at Fun com is our previously ambitious project, it is an absolute must, talented and reliable partner to have. And with Nuclear we have exactly that. We have already benefited from your expertise in the property-based gameplay, but I know that you are also generally very capable and creative games developers.

The German Studio Nuclear has already worked on titles such as Ever space as well as DESTROY ALL HUMANS and recently got from the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure within the framework of the Computer Games Promotion of the Federal Suite 1, 6 million euros. Part of it is also intended for promoting the Dune project, along with Tencent's investment, is a decent budget behind the upcoming video game.
