Xbox rejected a deal to make Marvel exclusive games

A new story has emerged that reveals that Xbox once had the opportunity to make exclusive video games with Marvel, but finally rejected the association. In recent years, Marvel Games has been mainly synonymous with PlayStation, mainly thanks to the launch of Marvel_ Spider-Man, Spider-man from Marvel: Miles Morales and the next title lobezno de Marvel. Although PlayStation and Marvel could be the main collaborators at this time, it seems that Xbox could have worked with the comics giant, but decided to focus on their own projects.

Microsoft rejected having an exclusive Marvel game back in 2014 for Xbox

As told in the book, the final history of video games, volume 2, Marvel Games Executive, Jay NGOs, spoke about the company's process of looking for new partners to create projects associated with the brand in 2014. In short, NGOs I wanted Marvel to move away from the creation of licensed games that would be associated with films. As such, he approached both Xbox and PlayStation about the idea of working in a game with Marvel due to the fact that both companies had a lot of money and resources to invest in a title. Xbox ended up rejecting this launch to focus on its own properties, while PlayStation ended up accepting a treatment that resulted inSpider -Man's man. The rest, as they say, is history.

In retrospect, this is surely something that Xbox could regret. The Marvel Spider -Man, in particular, has been one of the biggest games in PlayStation and surely helped sell many PS4 consoles during the last generation. However, at the time Marvel would have released this idea to Xbox, Microsoft was in a much more difficult situation with its game brand. Xbox One had had a bad start and Xbox internally was going through some quite important changes. With all this in mind, you can understand why Xbox probably wanted to focus on solving his own problems before looking for such a big game with Marvel.

Do you think this was an Xbox decision that will end up obsessing the company in the future? Or could Xbox see a way of working with Marvel Games in a new project right now? Let me know your opinion about this matter, either in the comments or send me a message on Twitter to @Mooreman12.
